"We had the pleasure of chatting with Lars Bajlum Holmgaard Christensen, Head of Cyber Hub, The Danish Hub for Cybersecurity, the newest entity that brings talented individuals and groups from the research and education institutions together to promote more cybersecurity entrepreneurship and encourage further growth of startups through incubation and acceleration programs."
We live in times where cybersecurity is essential in every aspect of the economy including - the public sector. Innovation is at the forefront, at the same time, due diligence is critical. Many aspiring entrepreneurs are technologically sound but often miss the mark by downplaying, and many times, ignoring the vital role Cybersecurity plays in building a strong foundation for their future.
“Cybersecurity is not only about IT and services. We cannot have digital innovation without cybersecurity. There is a need for a culture shift from strictly technological empowerment to knowledge sharing so we can focus in on the downsides of digital innovation and assess the value of cybersecurity.”
The cultural shift in this context refers to the intense focus on designing smart and intelligent IT products and services. It is common to overlook the security aspect and arrive at it in the later stages of scale-up among startups with revolutionary ideas. It is where The Danish Hub for Cybersecurity plays an important role. It is engaging across sectors to provide a holistic approach.
“We are creating a comprehensive community of talent, companies, professionals from different businesses and investors, among relevant others. This year in November we will take part in innovation centre Denmark's project that brings 10- talented individuals to TAU Ventures in Tel Aviv, the first academic-based venture capital fund in Israel focusing on early-stage startups. We are also initiating pilot projects to engage with companies and learn their needs as well as discover gaps that could be successfully filled by our talent.”
To ensure that it builds a robust community, Cyber Hub, The Danish Hub of Cybersecurity will be launching a new website. It will host more information about the various programs, projects, initiatives and objectives. The new platform will also showcase reports on the Nordic and Danish cybersecurity ecosystem and how it can be leveraged to meet the goals of a better and secure future.
