About
Do you enjoy meeting new people? Are you fascinated by startups and tech?
If yes, then we want you! Join our community and be part of delivering TechBBQ 2027 at Bella Center Copenhagen.
Choose how you want to be part of TechBBQ, either supporting guests across the venue or helping run the event behind the scenes.
Be the first point of contact for attendees. Help people find their way, get answers, and feel welcome throughout the festival.
Support the event from the inside, assisting teams, speakers, and production to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Where human initiative meets emerging tech and turns into real opportunities.
Set the venue up before the doors open and pack it down after they close: lounge furniture, signage, name badges, and helping suppliers place things. Expect physical work and lifting, and a pace that follows when suppliers arrive.
Welcome arriving guests, check their tickets in the check-in app, and hand out badges and wristbands. You use your own smartphone, and a team leader walks you through it on the day.
Answer questions about the program, the venue and tickets. You get a briefing, a printed FAQ and the event map, a first aid kit, and a radio to reach security. You also keep the lost and found log.
Take guests' coats and bags into the wardrobe: scan the guest's QR code, hang the item on a numbered hanger, then scan the hanger number. You get onboarded at the start of your shift.
Help the Stage Manager keep the stage on time. Speakers arrive 15 minutes before their slot at the technical area behind the audience seating, so know your stage program and the venue map.
Check name badges at the lounge entrance so only the right guests come in, and keep the lounge tidy. Speakers, media, investors, founders and presenters each have their own lounge.
Support the Team Leader with guest check-in, resetting the room, and other small tasks. May include managing private event entries.
Keep the sessions running on time: welcome speakers, guide people to the right session, and reset the area between talks. Grill Sessions are silent, so you also hand out and clean the headphones.
Go wherever help is needed. You cover other volunteers while they take a break and pick up urgent tasks anywhere in the venue.
Work from a desk at the bottom of the stairs and take guests to the rooms upstairs, including the Volunteer Hub, the meeting rooms and the Media Lounge.
Move around the venue and check that everyone is wearing the right wristband and that it is still intact. You need to be comfortable walking up to people.
Where human initiative meets emerging tech and turns into real opportunities.

Testimonials
I would definitely recommend, it is a great opportunity to network with new people and foster some new connections. Especially for people who just moved here, it is a great chance to establish potential relationships.

TechBBQ is using “Cultural Volunteers” for volunteers to sign up, choosing shifts and communication. It’s user-friendly and will guide you through the steps. You need a profile in the system, so that is first step.
You can reach out to the TechBBQ team by sending a message through the platform or send an email to volunteer@techbbq.org
We ask our volunteers to work two shifts. The 2027 shift dates are TBA.
Yes, you have to be 18 years old and above to be able to volunteer at TechBBQ.
We strongly recommend it! You will get to meet the team, explore the TechBBQ venue (Bella Center), learn about your role, and get an overview of what’s happening at TechBBQ 2027. It’ll be fun! Previous volunteers who met up formed closer bonds with their team members. They also felt more prepared for the work they would be doing by having the opportunity to ask relevant questions. If you cannot join for the team briefing, you can always get details of your shift from your team lead and find all necessary information on our volunteer platform.
