The 2nd Nordic-Africa Startup Summit will be on 27th August 2026 at Event Room 2.
We are bridging innovation, investment and impact between Africa and the Nordics.
Networking excursions and pop-up activities will take place on the 25th and 26th of August 2026.
*A valid TechBBQ 2026 ticket will be required to access the Nordic-Africa Startup Summit.
Showcase
The summit will concentrate on high impact sectors where Nordic-African collaboration can drive both commercial and societal value. Importantly, the summit will be part of a roadmap for a Nordic-Africa innovation corridor rather than a standalone annual event.
• Investment Facilitation: Providing matchmaking space between startups and investors to accelerate capital flows.
• A Collaboration Platform: Creating a network for founders, investors, VCs, policymakers and academia to connect.
• Market Access: Helping Nordic startups explore African growth markets and vice versa through visits and bilateral ties.
• Rebranding Africa: Rebranding Africa’s tech-startup ecosystems as full of potential, shifting gear from pilots to projects.
• Sector Innovation: Startups in critical sectors: Health & Diagnostics, Agri Tech & Food, Climate & Sustainability, AI & Deep Tech.
Participants
Hosted as part of TechBBQ this initiative brings together founders, investors, academia, corporates, foundations, policymakers and ecosystem leaders to unlock cross-border collaboration, investment opportunities and scalable impact.

What to expect
The Nordic Africa Startup Summit is designed as a bridge building platform rather than a one off investor showcase. Its core purpose is to connect the Nordic innovation and investment ecosystem with high growth African tech and AI enabled startups, while also engaging policymakers, academia and ecosystem builders from both regions. The intent moves beyond visibility to fostering trust, a shared understanding and longer term collaboration across crucial sectors such as AI & Digitalization, Global Health & Life Sciences , AgroTech & Food Systems, CleanTech & Sustainability, FinTech & Inclusive Digital Services, Education and Skills Development.
Once again, we will bring African startups, ecosystem leaders, universities and policymakers to the stage to showcase African and Nordic innovations.
