Why Sapporo, Hokkaido?

Our goal is to create locally-connected startup ecosystem among startups, scaleups, investors, corporations and ecosystem builders by learning from the success stories of the growth of Nordic ecosystems.

We are looking for globally connected startups & investors that can build and grow our ecosystem together.

Local Regenerative 12:00 – 12:50

In the past few years, the word "Sustainability" has been widely used to promote awareness of the concept of sustainable development in a variety of fields. However, it is not enough to keep up with the current changes in the global environment. The concept of "Regeneration" is gaining popularity as a means of regenerating the environment to a better state, as "sustainability" in the sense of maintaining the environment as it is not enough to meet the depletion of global resources. Startup companies that begin with the goal of solving a problem, and the startup ecosystem that creates the environment in which these startups are born. In this session, we will focus on the concept of "Regenerative" and discuss how to work with local communities to create a community with people who have been supporting local startup ecosystems. Hokkaido is accelerating its Green Transformation initiative under Team Sapporo Hokkaido, and trying to be a hub to attract investment, talents and information to foster Green Transformation. The vision, however, is still ambiguous and the ecosystem is in the process of envisioning what will happen in the next 3, 5 and 10 years by attracting foreign investments, initiating the transformation of energy usage by increasing the ratio of renewable energy and increasing the number of ClimateTech startups. How can we foresee the upcoming change in our ecosystem while pursuing a regenerative ecosystem?
